Tempesta Artists in the Spotlight

Next on the new Artist Recital Series, Tempesta Co-Director Gwyn Roberts performs her new favorite music, recorder sonatas by Francesco Mancini.

Adam at BarnesHarpsichordist Adam Pearl inaugurated Tempesta’s new Artist Recital Series at the Barnes and Woodmere with a pair of solo performances on October 17 and November 4 that consisted of an eye-opening take on a suite by Jean-Henri d’Anglebert, a witty partita by Johann Sebastian Bach and a blazing set of variations by Jean-Philippe Rameau.

Next on the new Artist Recital Series, Tempesta  Co-Director Gwyn Roberts performs her new favorite music, recorder sonatas by Francesco Mancini, a contemporary of Alessandro Scarlatti. Lutenist Richard Stone and harpsichordist Adam Pearl will accompany Gwyn on this program, with matinée performances on Sunday, January 27 at Woodmere, and on Wednesday, January 30 at The Barnes FoundationGallery admission included with your concert ticket.

Richard Stone, luteTempesta Co-Director Richard Stone also gave a Philadelphia recital, but for the Philadelphia Classical Guitar Society on November 11. The sold-out concert included Johann Sebastian Bach’s Prelude, Fugue and Allegro and a suite by Silvius Leopold Weiss on the baroque lute, and a suite by Robert de Visée and early baroque extravagances by Alessandro Piccinini on theorbo.
