Tempesta co-director Richard Stone will give two solo performances on lute and theorbo to open the second season of Tempesta di Mare’s Artist Recital Series. He will play lute selections by Johann Sebastian Bach and by Bach’s friend Silvius Leopold Weiss, and theorbo music by Robert de Visée, guitar teacher to Louis XIV, and by the Italian adventurer and poet Bellerofonte Castaldi. Concerts will take place on Sunday, October 27 at 3:00 at Powel House in Old City, and on Sunday, November 10 at 3:00 at Woodmere Art Museum in Chestnut Hill. Tickets are on sale now. Admission to all three recitals in the series is also included with the 8-concert season pass.

Stone’s lute work is of such a memorable quality, as agile and effortless as it is engaging, as enjoyable as technically superb. The playing is vital, elegant and nuanced.” La Folia Music Review
