Bartram’s Garden
During the summer months, Leipzig coffee house proprietor Gottfried Zimmerman hosted informal concerts led by Bach and Telemann in his gardens just outside the city walls, attracting musicians and music lovers from far and wide for these evenings of music and refreshments among the flowers.
Our Summer Concert and Soirée celebrates this tradition with a concert and dinner at Bartram’s Garden, America’s oldest living botanical garden and a National Historic Landmark, and benefits the legacy of long-time Tempesta board member and visionary Robert Zimmerman through the Zimmerman Artistic Opportunity Fund. Learn the fascinating back story behind the Fund’s maiden project, a recording of Janitsch rediscoveries for release on Chandos Records in November.
